november roadmap
I'm back from my break, which is to say I didn't go anywhere I just stopped working on Joshua 24:15 specifically, and to my credit I almost didn't think about it at all. I added a few pictures to the moodboard but any time I started thinking about the game I just gently put it aside for later.
That's kind of a big deal. I am guilty of all the unhealthy work habits and probably invented a few new ones--and I know exactly why I'm like this but knowing it doesn't fix it.
So I've looked at the forthcoming features list and broken it down a bit. Layout and art can be set aside for now, they're completely separate tasks from mechanics. My modest goal for the Finish Your Game Jam is to finish a complete ashcan.
So just looking at mechanics left to finish they fall into three natural clusters, which is convenient since there's more or less three weeks in the jam.
- Events
- Damage and repairs
- Economics of crew shares and supply costs
Barring illness or calamity (touch wood) I don't think any of these needs to take a whole week, even with the most relaxed schedule, but I also want to work on pacing myself.
Our heating was finally fixed today so that's good news. I hope if you're reading this you're comfortably warm and the inside of your house isn't foggy.
