A short retro-styled fantasy story game. Available again after way longer than was necessary! A holiday miracle!

Starring a Princess taking control of her own destiny, and a magical cat with strong eyeliner game.

I first released this game in late July 2014. The timing turned out to be less than ideal. I didn't promote it as much as it deserved because of terrorism, and at the end of the year I had to withdraw it entirely because of new EU tax rules that were completely impossible to comply with. Then all my executive functions got frozen in an iceberg for seven years and somewhere along the way I misplaced the final render. But listen, we got through that with a minimum of pants and a maximum of effort and a normal amount of fire, and now with very special help from rag-doll-witch here is the game.

Tips and donations are optional, appreciated, non-refundable, and help support further installments slowly getting made. There is a plan, but I'm just one very tired goblin so it's taking a while.

Things this game definitely includes:

  • trope subversion
  • feminism dragon
  • a level shaped like a butt
  • chainmail banana hammock
  • references to Zork, The Princess Bride, The X Files, and more
  • old meme
  • homage
  • the ghost of 2014 tumblr probably

Things this game definitely does not include:

  • metal bikinis
  • doomguys
  • damsels in distress

System requirements

Windows 2000 or better
1.0 GHz Intel Pentium III equivalent or better

oh. im sorry, i thought i was being funny. i didnt mean to be rude. i meant it as a sort of wail of despair perhaps?

yeah I was a bit harsh too, let's just chalk it up to miscommunication .  As far as mac support it wasn't viable for me to implement when I originally made the game but I still have all the project files backed up and I'm looking into what kind of options are available now, unfortunately I can't be any more precise than that

miscommunication my mortal enemy... i totally understand! thats why they make so many computers, specifically for programmers to suffer. im gonna look into windows emulators, hopefully it pans out for both of us

it's a DOS file so it should run fine under an emulator, some friends recommended one called WineBottler but obviously I can't vouch for it personally, good luck and I hope you get to enjoy the game :)

Loving the game concept, but gah, already stuck!

I can't figure out how to open the door 3rd level down in the tower that says you need help to do it

Hey I'm glad you're enjoying it :) This is a kind of a big moment in the story so without spoiling it I can say I wrote a lot of snoopy little bits of flavour text, and all the hints or outright solutions are in there. Any time you're stuck, try snooping more. You don't need to backtrack unless you want to hunt easter eggs; everything you need to advance is on the relevant floor. I hope this helps, if you're still stuck let me know and I'll hint harder.

Figured it out and got the (in my opinion) good ending.

Really cute little story, I liked it! Looking forward to more from you. <3
